Review of L'Oreal Paris The One Sweep Eye Shadow and Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara

As a BzzAgent, I get to try products for free in exchange for an honest review and creation of buzz on the Web. This week I received 2 new products in the mail: L'Oreal Paris The One Sweep Eye Shadow and Double Extend Eye Illumintor Mascara. Honestly, I rarely wear makeout - only once in a blue moon for a special occasion or maybe date night with hubby. These 2 products, however, are easy enough to make me want to wear makeup a little more often.

The One Sweep Eye Shadow

I really love the eye shadow because as the name suggests, it only takes one sweep to apply it! I am a person that knows nothing about applying eye shadow, so the fact that this one container has all 3 colors needed to enhance (define, color, highlight) your eyes is very convenient. There is no need to apply each shade separately, it's all applied in a single sweep. Up close you can see each color on your lid, but they blend to perfection. The shape of the applicator is shaped to match your lid which makes it really easy to get that one sweep down to a science. They have different palettes for each eye color; I received the one for brown eyes.

The mascara is a bit harder to apply (for an amateur like me), but I love the final result. It adds a hint of sparkle to the lashes, really highlights them and make them sparkle. The product is clump free so there's no mess when applying and it should last awhile. You apply the actual black mascara first and then the bronze topcoat to the tips of the lashes. It is supposed to lengthen and intensify the lashes. My lashes are already pretty long, so I didn't notice too much extra length to them; I did notice some intensity though. I took before and after pics below for you to see for yourself.

Before Eye Shadow and Mascara

So this is my natural look that I rock 98% of the time. I am wearing lip gloss only.

After Eye Shadow and Mascara

Remember, I really don't know anything about applying makeout - so I may have applied it all wrong lol. You can see on one eye I have a little more color (from the eye shadow) towards the bottom of my lid than than the other (I'm still getting into the habbit of this). You also really can't see the sparkles from the mascara; I guess it only shows in person. I also did not apply any eye liner.

My Free Spring Cleaning Kit from BzzAgent c/o SC Johnson (Initial Review)

Today I was ecstatic to wake up to a pretty decent sized box at my front door. I had no idea when it could be. When I picked it up, I saw that it was from BzzAgent and I then realized it was for the Spring Cleaning campaign. How exciting! I knew that I'd be receiving a couple items, but this box suggested that it was more than 2-3 items - and it was.

First off if you're not familiar with BzzAgent, let me explain. In simple terms, BzzAgent sends you free products to use in exchange for you creating buzz and sharing your experience on the Web. This is actually my second campaign with them. I participated in a Twinings tea campaign with them last year and I received a GENEROUS amount of tea bags in the mail to try. I'm a tea lover, so I was in heaven :)

This time I received a whole box of goodies. Pictures are below. Here's what was in the box:

  • One 4oz. Glade Limited Edition Spring Collection jar candle
  • One Glade Plugins Scented Oil refill
  • One Pledge Lemon Clean aerosol spray
  • One 20oz. bottle of Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer with Extend-A-Clean
  • One Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel kit with dispenser and gel discs
  • A mega-savings coupon booklet, filled with pages of coupons to share with friends!

I did just receive the box today, so I have not been able to try out all of the products yet. I have tried the candle and it smells amazing!! We have an open living room/dining/kitchen area and that one little candle had the whole area smelling like spring; it was very uplifting (which is something we really needed right now). The scent is called Sparkle of Spring and it has a very clean, refreshing smell to it.

Next I tried the Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel kit. I have actually never heard of this, but the directions were straightforward and it only took a minute to apply. I immediately smelled the difference and love the way it makes the toilet and bathroom smell! One gel disc lasts for a week and I received a box of 6 discs. I have 3 toilets in my house (2 1/2 bathrooms) so this pack will only last me 2 -3 weeks tops, but hey still worth it. I am already interested in buying more of this stuff as well as more candles!

One thing I wasn't too happy about was receiving a Glade Plugins Scented Oil refill, but no warmer to use it with. So I'll have to pick one up with a get a chance.

I'm very excited to try the Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer. I am not big on cleaning showers, so to know that this continues cleaning days after you've used it is awesome. We really don't have any wood furniture so I'm not sure what I'll use the Lemon Pledge on; we'll see.

For now I'm very happy with my spring cleaning kit! Being that we just moved into our new house in January 2011, this kind of feels like a little house warming gift and it will definitely be put to good use!
